Lingang Nanhui New Town Cup Regatta Close Successfully

The First Lingang Nanhui New Town Cup Regatta was successfully closed on August 5th in Shanghai Dishui Lake. This event was hosted by Sports Bureau of Shanghai Pudong New District and People’s Government of Nanhui New Town, and co-organized by Nanhui New Town Social Undertaking & Development Office and Shanghai Sailing Club, attracting 18 teams from different community offices of Shanghai Pudong New District. 

This event includes the training on August 4th and the qualifying and final races on August 5th. In the morning of the first day, all teams learned the basic sailing theory and skills. In the afternoon for the on-water sailing practice they came to Shanghai Sailing Club in Dishui Lake. On August 5th, after three rounds of qualifying races, the first nine places of the 18 teams entered the final. In the end, teams of Huinan Town, Sanlin Town, Nanhui New Town, Xinchang Town, Tang Town and Gaoqiao Town won the top six. It is midsummer but all teams actively took part in and enjoyed the race greatly. During the race, many visitors gave the participants thumbs-up, and some even wanted to have a try for themselves.

This sailing race has brought great positive influence for sailing’s promotion in the future, not only showing us teams’ spirit of courage and enterprising, living up the atmosphere of local sailing, but also building a positive image of enhancing physical exercise and valuing development, and rooting the thought of national fitness into the heart of the public.
