ASAF Cup’s First Keelboat Regatta with FAREAST 28R to be On

The 2016 ASAF Cup’s First Keelboat Regatta will be held in Shenzhen Daya Bay from October 27th to 30th. Teams from ten countries and regions will come for the regatta. It is organized by Asian Sailing Federation and Chinese Yachting Association, with Shanghai Far East Boats the boat provider as co-organizer. Keelboat FAREAST 28R made by Shanghai Far East Boats will be used as the racing boat of ASAF Keelboat Cup for three years from 2016 to 2018. 

In ASAF Cup’s history, there were only dinghy races, including OPTIMIST, Laser, Laser Radial, International 470 Class, etc. To promote keelboat sailing’s development in Asian area, ASAF Cup set up keelboat regatta and got great support from Chinese Yachting Association and Far East Boats. 

In this event, you can find many big names of sailing coming from China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippine, Oman, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao. Team Turquoise from Japan, Subic Sailing Team from Philippines and Team R Airlines from Thailand are among them. A fierce competition will be on in Shenzhen Daya Bay. 

And Union Team representing Chinese Yachting Association is also one of those teams. All crews come from National sailing team, a lot of experience of windsurfing and dinghy sailing. This keelboat race will be a new start for their sailing journey.
