2017 OPTIMIST ASIAN & OCEANIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS Held in HK

On September 30th, 2017 Optimist Asian & Oceanian Championship opened in Hong Kong and welcomed 132 entries battled it out over five days of racing. The sailors came from China, America, Bermuda, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, India, Myanmar, Oman, Sri Lank and Turkey.

Far East has been the official supplier and 99% boats are from Far East brand. Besides, Far East also became the only sponsor of opening ceremony which held at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in Kellett Bay. On October 1st, Kevin Whithcraft (IODA President), Nuno Gomes (IODA Vice President), Tong Shing (HKSF President), Robert Stoneley (RHKYC Commodore), Gregoire Bourrut Lacouture (event Chairman) and Demolar Du (Far East President) attend the ceremony and made speeches.

Over the last more than 10 years, Far East has been the official equipment and service supplier for many Optimist world championships and Asian& Oceanian championships. In Thailand Optimist worlds this July, Far East supplied total 159 sets of Optimist boats and the top five sailors used boats from Far East. Besides, Far East has established close cooperation with regattas in HK in recent years. In 2015 and 2016, Far East supported Hong Kong Race Week and HKODA National& Open Championships.
