Barcolana offers an exciting program of events on land and at sea, ripe with sailing competitions, great entertainment, culture and technology. For ten days the sea will be the main theme in cinemas, theatres and the city as a whole.

On September 30th, Barcolana Young open the ten days of the Barcolana regattas and be the first ones to go into the waters of Bacino San Giusto and offer spectators the breathtaking view of over 300 "young sails" sailing in the waters off Piazza Unità d'Italia. Other than that, it is an equally great event, filled with enthusiasm, competition and fun. Among them, several Optimist boats from Chinese Brand Far East gained a lot of attention.

Barcolana Chef

This special event was created by Emanuele Scarello and Claudio Demartis in collaboration with Barcolana. It is the event that combines sailing and gourmet food with the aim of promoting sea-related haute cuisine. The sailing and cooking protagonists of Barcolana Chef – now in its third edition – will compete for the first place in a combined contest both on the water and in the kitchen.

Six Michelin-starred chefs was aboard on one design class FAREAST 28R and competed first at sea in two regattas and then on land in a cut-throat cooking competition at Galleria illycaffè. Finally Alfio Ghezzi won the third edition of Barcolana Chef, who got the highest score from the cooking and sailing competitions combined.
