Fareast Keelboats secures places as Match Racing equipment in Saudi and North Macedonia

2024 Youth Match Racing World Championship from 29 November and the 2024 Women’s Match Racing World Championship beginning immediately afterwards from 5 December have been approved by World Sailing and are to be hosted at the Jeddah Yacht & Marina in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Both events will feature a maximum of 12 teams and use the Fareast 28R racing keelboat, a One Design model capable of reaching 20 knots. The Fareast 28R combines high performance with a lightweight frame, making it ideally suited to inshore racing for teams up to five people.

Prior to this World Sailing announcement, another keelboat type from Fareast family of Fareast 23R has being confirmed as racing equipment at the second stop of 2024 European Match Race Tour which is scheduled from 28-31 August at Lake Ohrid, North Macedonia. 4 Fareast 23Rs will embrace those some of the best match racing teams in Europe and set sail.

Fareast 28R was designed by Dutch naval architect Simonis Voogd Design office and firstly launched in 2014. Soon after it was approved and granted by World Sailing as One Design class status in 2015. So far there are more than 600 pieces Fareast 28R being sold and sailed in the worldwide.
Fareast 23R is Fareast 28R’s little sister but a smaller version and a really competitive club racer. Fitted with the typical Fareast reverse bow and wide transom, the Fareast 23R sails easily upwind and can become furious in a good breeze downwind with the centrum fitted bowsprit.
