29er Makes Its Debut as an Official Asian Games Event | Fareast-built Boats Take to the Asian Games Race Course

The sailing competitions of the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games concluded successfully from 26 September to 3 October in Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. At this edition, the 29er class was included as an official Asian Games sailing event for the first time. The 29er boats manufactured by Fareast served as the official competition equipment and were deployed throughout the regatta.
The 29er is a high-performance skiff serving as the vital link between youth training and the Olympic 49er class. Built under One Design rules, it imposes strict requirements on hull structure, dimensions and manufacturing consistency. Only officially licensed manufacturers are permitted to build race-compliant boats. In 2026, through independent mould development and prototype construction, Fareast passed official inspections and measurement certifications, successfully obtaining official builder status for the 29er class.
Fareast previously secured manufacturing certification for the ILCA series and supplied race boats for the 2025 ILCA World Championships. The transition from ILCA to 29er validates the continuous advancement of Fareast’s standardized production and quality control systems for international One Design racing yachts. The Asian Games has fully tested the build quality and event support capacity of Fareast’s competition sailboats. Moving forward, Fareast will keep optimizing production techniques and quality management systems in line with international racing boat standards, delivering reliable equipment for more global regattas and the development of the sport.
