Far East Boats signed the only partner of the Women’s International Match Racing Series in China.

On October 14th, Anna Holmdahl White, Director of the Women’s International Match Racing Series (WIM Series), and Demolar Du, the chairman of the Far East Boats, officially signed the cooperation agreement.The Far East Boats was officially the only partner of the WIM Series in China. The two sides will jointly promote the event development in China and Asia and promote global cultural exchanges.

At present, promoting women's participation in sports is one of the goals of the International Olympic Committee. Women's participation in navigation is one of the major tasks of the World Sailing. As a rare business woman in the domestic shipping circle, Demolar Du has been committed to promoting women's participation in sailing. Years ago, she established a relationship with the WIM Series and actively proposed a development strategy framework for the event's settlement in China.

On the occasion of 2018 FAREAST 28R World Championship,Demolar Du specially invited the WIM Series team to come to China for field visits and exchanges. The American women's team and the Danish MMXV team participated enthusiastically and presented a match after the practice session, showing the female sailors' good strength. In the end, the two teams won the seventh and eleventh among the 26 teams.

This competition also strengthened the confidence of the WIM Series cooperation with Far East Boats. Before the awarding ceremony and the closing ceremony, the two sides formally signed a cooperation agreement. Demolar Du said that “It is our great honour to be a part of the WIM series and we are looking forward to working together with them to host successful events at different Chinese stopovers the coming years. At the moment there are very few women;s sailing teams in China and in Asia. Hopefully by our continuous collaboration and efforts, we can provide more opportunities for Chinese and also Asian female sailors to compete at an international stage, advance their sailing performance and try to expand sailing as a sport "

Launched in 2013, the WIM Series has delivered 14 events at host venues around the world, attracted over 300 international women sailors representing all areas of the sport (Olympians, National Champions, World Champions, and Volvo Ocean Race veterans)
